Toronto SSO Success

Demonstrated Leadership

CCI, with partners, developed North America’s first two large-scale AD plants and from 2011-2013 a third facility was completed for the City of Toronto (City) Green Bin Program processing of Source Separated Organics (SSO), with AECOM Canada as the lead for the project delivery. The community bioenergy solution that the City is deploying includes expansion in 2015-2017 of the first AD facility opened in 2002 at the Dufferin Transfer Station and the operation of a second facility at the City owned Disco Road Transfer Station that opened in December 2013.
